D23 Design Challenge
Disney’s D23 Design Challenge prompt was to celebrate and honor the 50th anniversary of the one of the most iconic attractions ever created, the Haunted Mansion. This piece is my take on what a vintage print advertisement would have looked like if the 999 Happy Haunts were promoting the new Doom Buggies ride vehicles when the attraction first opened in the late 1960s. Inspired by yesteryear and what designers were able to accomplish with limited color palettes and mid-century printing techniques. Any diehard Disney fan will recognize the names on the tombstone which was an opportunity to pay homage to the visionaries and Imagineers who designed and built the attraction.
